Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the activities of liquidated gangster Nayeemuddin on Sunday arrested a journalist. Hari Prasad who had earlier worked with some Telugu news channels, has been running a web-based news channel by name i10 News. It turns out that channel was being funded by Nayeem.

The journalist had opened an office in Banjara Hills. Moreover, Nayeem was having plans to start a high-profile media house with the help of a few journalists. According to sources, Hari Prasad was arrested from Nalgonda and is questioned by cops.

Efforts are on to establish the details of the financial transactions between Hari Prasad and the gangster. Police have raided the office at Banjara Hills road number 6.

Nayeem, once a Naxalite, had in recent years been closely associated with several senior level politicians and cops involved in shady deals. Police has already seized his houses in Tirumala Garden, Alkapuri and Puppalaguda. The Telugu website run by Hari Prasad looked new but amateurish.

Nayeem also was planning to start a TV channel along with Hari Prasad, it is believed. Ihe investigation teams are taking Nayeem’s aides and family members to AP, Maharashtra, Goa, Chattisgarh and Odisha to identify properties owned by the liquidated gangster.

Location: India, Telangana, Hyderabad
