3 villas burgled; gold, silver and cash stolen in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A day after a robbery in Kukatpally, burglars targeted locked homes in Nizampet area and decamped with valuables worth lakhs from three villas. A gang of around five persons was suspected involved in the crime.
In June, burglars targeted seven houses on a single day while, in another case, a police officer’s house in KPHB was targeted in June. The stepped-up police vigil after the June incidents does not seem to have deterred the burglars.
The robberies happened at the residence of K Gopal in Balaji Meadows villa no 331; house of Rangappa, of villa no 129; and of Ramakrishna at villa no 130 of Akhila abode in Kolanu Tulasi Ram reddy Colony under KPHB police station limits. All the three are businessmen.
Gopal and Rangappa were out of station while Ramakrishna is residing in Vizag for the past few months. His house was locked. On Saturday, between 3 and 5am, five masked men entered Balaji Meadows and broke open the lock of Gopal’s house and looted 12 tolas of gold and 4.5 kg of silver.
The gang then entered Akhila Abode and broke open the houses of Rangappa and looted more than five tolas of gold and Rs 20,000 in cash. They also broke into Ramakrishna’s house. The watchman at Akhila abode noticed the gang and chased them but they hurled stones at him and fled.
“Property loss in Ramakrishna’s house will be known after the family arrives from Vizag. The suspects must be a part of an interstate gang. The CCTVs at Akhila abode captured their movements. We are verifying them,” KPHB detective SI Tirupathi said.
