Hyderabad: A class VIII student in love with an Intermediate boy committed suicide in Maheshwaram.
The 15-year-old girl, resident of Gangaram hamlet under Maheshwaram police station, and her boyfriend V. Praveen Kumar decided to end life after their parents came to know of their relationship.
According to police, for the past one year, the girl was in love with the second year student from the same village. Recently their parents came to know of their affair and warned them to stay away from each other.
The two decided will not be able to go ahead with their relation and Praveen suggested they commit suicide together. On Friday they arrived at the girl’s house with a pesticide bottle.
“The girl drank it first and when Praveen was about to take it, her parents arrived. Seeing them, the boy fled from the spot. The girl succumbed on Sunday morning,” Maheshwaram Inspector A Manmohan said.
Based on a complaint from the girl’s father, a case for abetment to suicide has been registered against Praveen. Police is investigating.
