Hyderabad: A twelve-year-old boy was killed in an accident in Kukatpally on Sunday. The mishap occurred when Abdul Aziz was pillion riding with his father and a private water tanker hit their bike.
According to police, ex-serviceman Abdul Madar is working as a security officer at a bank in Nizamabad. Sunday being a holiday, he came home to meet his family at Jagathgirigutta.
His younger son Abdul Aziz is studying Class VII at Abhyas High School at Yellammabanda and his elder brother is studying Class X at MNR High School in Kukatpally.
In the morning, Aziz wanted his father to buy him sweets. The two went to Kukatpally on their bike and were returning with sweets and other household items.
“Midway, a private water tanker going to Kukatpally hit the bike. In its impact, the father was flung in the air and fell at a distance while Aziz came under the right rear wheel of the vehicle,” Kukatpally Sub Inspector Kranti said.
Aziz died on the spot and his father is recovering from his injuries at a private hospital. Tanker driver Mahesh has been detained.
An accidental death case is registered and the body was handed over to the family after post mortem. The police is investigating.
