SHE Teams book 26 people for harassment
Hyderabad: The Rachakonda SHE teams have booked 26 harassment cases and nabbed 33 offenders including eight minors in the last two weeks. All offenders were counselled by professionals and cops on Saturday.
A 22-year-old woman accountant residing in Boduppal was being harassed by Sudhakar, 25, a DCM driver for the past two years. Sudhakar called the victim and her in-laws to abuse them claiming to be her husband. Sudhakar even posted pictures of the victim on social media and posted lewd comments and messages to her family members for the past two weeks. He was booked by the SHE teams under Section 354 (d) of the IPC (repeated attempts by a man to make conversation with a woman).
In another case, Sravan, a 20-year-old electrician from Uppal was apprehended by the SHE team cops for harassing a 17-year-old minor by following her and forcing her to accept his romantic proposal. Sravan stalked the victim and would repeatedly try talking to her despite her denial.
During decoy operations carried out by the SHE teams, multiple offenders including juveniles from LB Nagar and Malkajgiri were apprehended for harassing women and passing inappropriate comments.
The Cyberabad SHE teams had also organised a counselling session on Saturday for respondents from minors to 50 years old for the offences they have committed, namely harassment and stalking. The session was attended by 44 people including 7 minors.
