Chennai: A newly married woman committed suicide in Karapakkam, on Old Mahabalipuram Road, on Friday evening. The deceased’s relatives have lodged a complaint against her husband.
The deceased, Chitra of Gingee in Villupuram district, married her colleague Sagayraj after falling in love with him. However, she reportedly came to know of his relationship with another woman and the couple often fought over it. “Chitra hung self in their house on Friday evening,” the police said.
Police retrieved her body and sent it for post-mortem. Chitra’s family members have lodged a complaint against Sagayaraj implicating him as the reason for the extreme step.
