Raichur: The case of wife of a circle inspector with the Anti-Corruption Bureau attempting suicide a couple of days ago following “matrimonial discord” has taken a new turn with the woman now lodging an attempt to murder case against her husband.The woman, Vijaylakshmi, has accused Bidar ACB Circle Inspector M.B. Siddaramaiah, who hails from Manvi taluk, of living with another married woman, whom he befriended through the social media. Vijaylakshmi and Siddaramaiah, who married in 2008, have three children.

Vijaylakshmi attempted suicide on Saturday by consuming poison. She was rushed to a hospital.

Later, she filed a complaint with the Manvi police that she attempted suicide because of “marital discord”. However on Tuesday evening, she filed another complaint stating that she did not attempt suicide, but was poisoned by her husband, mother-in-law and three brothers-in-law.

Vijaylakshmi stated in the complaint that till her husband came in contact with the Shivamogga-based woman, Shubha, through the social media in 2014, they had a happy married life. Once the extra-marital affair started, Siddaramaiah started neglecting her and also harassing her.

She also alleged that Siddaramaiah, using his police powers, got Shubha separated from her husband, who works in Bengaluru.When he started living with Shubha in Raichur before he was posted to Bidar, Vijaylakshmi, who was in Manvi, went there and took objection. She had brought this to the notice of higher officials who promised a solution but noting has happened so far she said.Now after his posting to Bidar, Siddaramaiah is said to be living with Shubha, his mother and three brothers. Vijaylakshmi went to Bidar to live with him, but was not allowed to enter the house, she has stated.
