Hyderabad: Two Rohingyas who had illegally obtained Aadhaar cards and other official documents on their names and the agents who helped them were arrested by the Rachakonda police at Balapur on Monday. So far the Rachakonda police has nabbed about 20 Rohingyas who had illegally obtained documents by paying huge sums to local agents.

Those arrested on Monday were identified as agent Syed Nayeem, 33, his associate Mohd Aqeel, 26, and the Rohingyas Mohd Fayaz, 21, and Mohd Faisal, 22. Nayeem works as a visa and passport agent and along with Aqeel allegedly helped secure Indian passports by creating forged Aadhaar, PAN and voter identity cards.

“He produced false and fabricated rental deeds on the name of Aqeel as their residence proof and obtained Aadhaar cards through an e-Seva centre. Using this, he obtained passports for the two Rohingyas.’ said LB Nagar DCP M. Venkateswar Rao. Police found that Nayeem had collected Rs 50,000 from each Rohingya for procuring passports.

In April, Rohingya national Mohammed Hussaini was arrested by the Balapur police for possessing an Indian passport and other documents. He told the police that he had obtained the passport with Nayeem’s help by paying Rs 25,000. With the lead, police probed Nayeem’s role and nabbed him. Upon his confession, police also nabbed Fayaz and Faisal for illegal possession of Indian passports and documents.
