All the 15 offenders will be produced in Erramanzil court on Tuesday after counselling on Monday.

Hyderabad: The Jubilee Hills traffic police conducted a special drive against drunken driving on Road #10 and seized 15 vehicles including eight cars, six bikes and an autorickshaw on Sunday night. All the 15 offenders will be produced in Erramanzil court on Tuesday after counselling on Monday.

The drunken drivers were caught between 10:30 pm and 12:30 am on Saturday night. As per the new Motor Vehicles Act the offenders will be fined up to Rs 25,000.

A 25-year-old woman named Hari Chandana, believed to be a student, was also caught for drunken driving on Saturday. Her Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was found to be 41. Anyone who is caught with BAC above 35 is considered guilty.

Traffic police Jubilee Hills inspector Srinivas Reddy said, “As there is no change in people even after jailing and fining DLs should be cancelled if anyone is caught for drunken driving. No matter how much we are counselling there is no change in the people. The numbers are increasing as pubs, bars and belt shops have increased in the city”.
