Missing 19-year-old girl found murdered in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A 19-year-old girl, who went missing from home four days ago, was found murdered on Saturday in Medchal. Police said that the body of the girl, Swapna, was found with a chunni tied around her throat and her face crushed with a heavy stone.
According to police, B. Swapna, 19, a resident of Srirangavaram village in Medchal mandal completed SSC and worked for a nearby company for a few years. Since some months, she was staying at home and was unemployed.
On Tuesday evening she went missing from her home. Her parents searched for her the whole night and on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the police.
A missing case was registered and police started investigation.
On Saturday morning around 7.30 am, locals found the body of a girl near the electrical substation at Bandamadaram village and informed the the police.
Police rushed to the spot and summoned Swapna’s parents to identify if the body was their daughter’s.
“Her parents identified the body. Unidentified persons had strangled her with her chunni. Her face was also totally crushed, as she was hit on the face with a stone,” Medchal inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy said. A case of murder has been registered.
Police said that they are working on clues to trace the accused. The reasons behind the murder are not known. The body was handed over to the family after postmortem. Police is investigating.
