Hyderabad: Newborn baby girl found abandoned at garbage dump
Hyderabad: A newborn baby girl was found abandoned at a garbage dump in Moula Ali on Saturday morning. Passers-by heard the cries of the baby and rescued her with the help of the police and rushed her to the hospital.
Police suspect that her parents abandoned her a few hours after her birth as she was a girl child or might have been born out of wedlock. According to Kushaiguda police, the baby was wrapped in a cloth and left in a garbage dump at HB Colony in Moula Ali.
“It could be that the parents abandoned her as she was a girl child. The child still had the umbilical cord attached and had blood stains all over the body, which suggest that she was delivered just a few hours ago,” said Kushaiguda inspector Mr N. Venkat Ramana. The baby was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for treatment and kept under observation.
Police has registered a case for abandoning a child and is verifying CCTV footages installed at a nearby temple and surrounding areas to trace who abandoned the child.
