Bengaluru: Goonda Act against biker gang leader

The accused, Sheshadri alias Shesha, 23, is a resident of Hosakerehalli. He was arrested under the Goonda Act.

Bengaluru: The Hanumanthanagar police arrested the leader of the infamous bikers' gang who rode bikes during the night carrying lethal weapons and threatened people to surrender their mobile phones, wallets and other valuables.

The accused, Sheshadri alias Shesha, 23, is a resident of Hosakerehalli. He was arrested under the Goonda Act.

Shesha and his friends rode bikes carrying long machetes and knives and targeted lone walkers in Hanumantha Nagar, J.P. Nagar, Mico Layout, Basavanagudi, Byatarayanapura, Vijayanagar, Subramanyanagar, Jayanagar and Siddapura police limits.

If the walkers resisted, the gang would attack them with the weapons. Shesha was booked for robbery, attempt to robbery, theft and other crimes. Eighteen cases had been registered against him in the city.

The police have booked him under Goonda Act as he had previously committed similar crimes and had come out of jail recently after serving a term.
