HYDERABAD: The Cybercrime unit of Rachakonda arrested a man who was allegedly involved in sending obscene photos and abusive text messages through Facebook and WhatsApp and for threatening to tarnish the image of a Scheduled Caste woman.
The accused was identified as C. Suresh, 26, a private sector employee of Ranga Reddy District.
“The accused happened to meet the victim at her elder sister’s house at Ibrahimpatnam and developed friendship with her. Later, the accused proposed to the victim but she refused. She said that she had an affair with someone else and would marry him,” an investigating officer from said.
“One day, the accused stalked the victim up to the bus stop and forcibly took her mobile phone and downloaded all her personal images. He later morphed them and sent it to the man with whom she was in love. He also went on to create a WhatsApp group whe-re he added people from the victim’s village and posted all her morphed pictures there.”
The police seized the mobile phone, which was used for the crime, from the possession of the accused.
