Bengaluru: The Bandepalya police, who are probing the death of Dr Ashok Raj Koul, a plastic surgeon who ended his life by jumping off the terrace of Sobha Apartment in Somasandrapalya on Monday, are still clueless about the possible reason behind his extreme step.
The police on Monday examined the CCTV footage at the apartment, which they say has recorded incident. They have also taken Dr Koul’s mobile phone into their custody to examine the call details.
“It’s a clear case of suicide as evident in the CCTV footage. Prima facie, there is nothing to prove that family issues were behind the doctor’s suicide. We tried unlocking his mobile phone to examine the calls he made and received prior to his suicide, but we did not succeed. We have sent the phone to an expert team to crack it,” the police said.
The police could not question Dr Koul’s wife and children as they were still in shock. On Monday afternoon, Dr Koul returned from the hospital after performing two surgeries before jumping off the terrace of the 10-floor apartment.
