Hyderabad: Arrest reveals shocking history of rape, blackmail

Rape of girl by two continued for three years.

Hyderabad: The arrest of college dropout Zeeshan Ahmed in a blackmail and rape case in Bahadurpura has revealed shocking details of sexual exploitation, extortion and criminal intimidation of a teenage girl that took place over a period of three years.

Besides Zeeshan, 23, another person named Syed Adeel also raped the girl after blackmailing her about the ‘sexual relationship’ she had with Zeeshan. The girl became pregnant after the rapes and was forced to have an abortion by the accused.

Zeeshan, a resident of HUDA Colony at Attapur, extorted Rs 30,000 from the victim after he threatened her with videos of the rape. Police is now searching for the second accused, Syed Adeel, who was a senior of the victim at college.

Police said Zeeshan raped the victim first in 2012, when the victim was just 17. “Zeeshan had a brief relationship with the victim’s sister and had shot some videos of their intimate moments. He then used it to blackmail the victim and rape her,” said a police official.

After raping her multiple times over six months, the second accused, Syed Adeel, forced the girl into sex. He then threatened her saying he knew about Zeeshan raping her and that he would “shame” her if she did not agree to his demands. “She agreed to his demands and was sexually exploited by Syed for three months until she became pregnant. He then took the victim to Zeenath Hospital in Teegalkunta with the help of a friend and got an abortion done in February 2014,” said DCP V. Satyanarayana.

Later, Zeeshan contacted her again on FB in September 2015 and claiming that he knew her relationship with Syed Adeel, and started blackmailing her again. He told her that if she does not lodge a complaint against Syed Adeel, he would post videos of her with Adeel on FB. Meanwhile, he took her signatures on a complaint against Syed Adeel and also demanded Rs 1 lakh from her. Out of fear, she paid Rs 30,000. She informed her parents who approached the police.
