Bengaluru woman kills 8 puppies to teach their mother a lesson
Bengaluru: In a horrific incident, a woman was booked for allegedly killing eight puppies that were born in a drain near her house in Bengaluru, according to reports.
The woman, who has been identified as Ponamma, allegedly flung all eight puppies -- one after another -- onto a boulder. According to Ponamma’s neighbours, she killed the puppies to teach their mother a lesson for giving birth to the litter near her house.
The dog, who is fondly called Ammu, is still wandering around where her litter was buried moaning and crying.
This incident comes to light a day after a Delhi man was caught on camera stabbing dogs.
The police have got hold of a CCTV footage near Ponnamma's house. They have registered a case under Section 93 of the Karnataka Police Act (punishment for cruelty to animals) and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960, and IPC Section 429. If proved guilty, she could end up in prison for up to five years.
The neighbours also claimed that they tried stopping Poonamma from committing such a heinous act but in vain. She reportedly replied that she felt no repentance as she casually said, ‘accha nahi laga, fek diya’ (didn’t like it, threw it).
