Bengaluru: 2 more children sexually assaulted at same school

On Tuesday, the parents met MLC V.S. Ugrappa, who is heading a House committee on sexual harassment.

Bengaluru: Two more parents have alleged that their children too were sexually assaulted at the school where a three-year-old girl was allegedly attacked by a supervisor last week.

On Tuesday, the parents met MLC V.S. Ugrappa, who is heading a House committee on sexual harassment, and other members of the committee during their visit to the pre-nursery school in Marathahalli.

When the parents of the two children refused to file complaints, Mr Ugrappa asked the police to take appropriate action.

Committee members said that as per law, the three-year-old victim has to undergo a medical test in any of the government hospitals, but the parents were refusing. “The report from Sakra Hospital, where the child was taken by the parents, is not conclusive," committee members said.

Meanwhile, the parents continued to pressurise the authorities to shut the school, saying it is not following the norms issued by the department of public instruction and police on the safety of children.

Principal arrested
The Marathahalli police, investigating the sexual harassment of a three-year-old girl in a nursery school, arrested school principal Dr. Veena and school’s Zonal General Manager Kingston on Tuesday. Some of the protesting parents alleged that the police behaved rudely with them.
