Karnataka: Three killed in hit and run case

Police said that the three victims along with other family members had gone to Ghati Subramanya and were returning on Sunday evening.

Bengaluru: Three people including two women were killed on the spot in a hit and run case, when a speeding MUV knocked them down near a dhaba at Anchepalya in Kudur on Bengaluru-Mangaluru highway on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Sarojamma, 80, her son Renukappa, 50, and Gangamma, 40, a relative. The deceased were residents of Kuduregere village near Madanayakanahalli in Nelamangala.

Police said that the three victims along with other family members had gone to Ghati Subramanya and were returning on Sunday evening. Around 7.40 pm, they parked their vehicle on roadside and were crossing the road to reach a dhaba on the other end. A speeding Mahindra XUV, headed towards Mangaluru, knocked the three people and they died on the spot.“The driver did not stop the vehicle and sped away. During the intense search for the vehicle, it was found that the vehicle was abandoned around seven kilometres away. We are trying to trace the owner,” the police added.
