Kerala police nab gang selling stolen luxury bikes

KOZHIKODE: Police on Monday arrested a gang involved in selling stolen luxury bikes from Bangalore in different parts of Kerala.

Those arrested, Ishan (19) Shiyas N. (19), Sachin (22) and Josil (22), hail from Sultan Bathery.

Police also arrested two others, Abdul Salam (21) and Thushar K. Dinakaran (19), for using the stolen bikes.

The police also seized six stolen bikes sold out to another party based on the information from those in custody.

"These guys divide themselves into small groups and target luxury bikes parked in various apartments in Bangalore," an officer said. They are experts in breaking the handle locks. Later they'll bring these bikes to Wayanad and sell them among their friends or people known to them.

"We are yet to recover few more luxury bikes stolen by these guys," he said.

"They live in Bangalore for various purposes including education. A few others are working there. The boys mainly use the money for their luxury lives including travelling."
