Hyderabad: Victim working for Narayana College for 10 years
Hyderabad: The dean of Narayana College was arrested by the Osmania University police on Monday on charges of sexual harassment.
Police received a complaint from the public relations officer of Narayana Colleges, alleging that the dean, Srinivasa Rao, has been harassing her for the past few weeks and that strict action should be taken against him.
The complainant has been working with the organisation for the past 10 years.
Her relatives staged a protest outside the dean’s office in Tarnaka and tried to attack him. The police intervened and took the details from the woman.
Following her complaint, cases have been booked under Section 354 A (sexual harassment) and 354 D (any man following a woman to contact or attempt to contact to foster personal interaction repeatedly despite a clear indication of disinterest by such woman) of the Indian Penal Code and an investigation has begun.
On Monday, Osmania University police arrested Mr Rao and sent him to judicial remand.
