Bengaluru: A team of officials from the Sydney police are in the city in connection with the murder of Prabha Shetty, 41, who was murdered at Strathfield in Sydney on March 7, 2015. The police team is in the city following clues that someone known to the victim had given supari (contract) to the killer in Australia.
The team is reportedly closely working with the cyber crime sleuths in the CID.
Sources said the team arrived in the city on January 16 and will be here for a couple of days.
“A team of four officials have come with a list of over 15 phone numbers. The cyber crime police are assisting them in the probe. They would question several people including Prabha Shetty’s husband Arun Kumar, her brother and others as part of the probe,” an official said.
It is learnt that the analysis of phone call details in connection with the probe led the local police to strongly suspect of hand of someone close to the victim orchestrating the murder.
