Hyderabad: 2 held for attempt to murder

The Rachakonda police on Monday arrested a bank employee.

Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police on Monday arrested a bank employee and a builder for attempting to murder Gulam Mohinuddin, owner of Deccan Traders that manufactures LED lights. Five others are absconding. Police said the accused were Mohinuddin’s partners in the LED unit, and were angry that he was not sharing profits nor submitting financial reports.

Those arrested were identified as bank employee Sayyad Mohammed, 36, builder Mohd Akram Ali Naseer, 39, and office boy Uppuleti Raju, 27.
According to the police Mohinuddin and main suspect Mohd Soh-aib Zaffar, who is absconding, had set up the unit and the others had invested in it. Angered with Mohinuddin’s refusal to share profits, they hatched a plan to threaten and assault him and collect their share of money.

On November 6, they took him to the factory at Hayatnagar and beat him with iron rods and forced him to sign blank cheques.

“They took his ATM cards, passport, and company records and admitted him in a hospital. Later they got him discharged, took him to his office and beat him again and fled, after which he approached police,” an official said.

During investigation, police traced three suspects and arrested them while five others are absconding.
