Bengaluru: Rowdies butcher police informant'
BENGALURU: A rowdy and his associates brutally hacked a 28-year-old man to death on suspicion that he was passing on information about their activities to the police.
The incident took place on Thursday night in Vinoba Nagar in K.G. Halli police limits and the deceased has been identified as Syed Yusuf. His brother Husain sustained injuries.
The accused, Nadeem alias Chapdi Nadeem, was unhappy with Yusuf, a driver, as he suspected that Yusuf had tipped off the police about his drug dealings. He was later arrested under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and jailed.
Around 11.30 pm on Thursday, Yusuf was riding his bike with his brother Husain on the pillion. The bike brushed against Nadeem's auto, which was parked on the roadside.
Nadeem, who was looking for revenge, picked up a fight with him. Nadeen and his four associates attacked Yusuf with lethal weapons and injured his brother and fled the spot.
Yusuf was rushed to a hospital where he died later. Police have detained some people who knew Nadeem and are trying to trace him and his associates.
