Karimnagar: The Rajdhani Express ran over three railway employees who were working on railway tracks near Hussainmiya Vagu at Chikurai village in Peddapalli district on Tuesday.
Police said the victims noticed an incoming goods train. They stepped onto the adjacent track to avoid the goods train but failed to notice the Rajdhani Express approaching from the opposite side and were killed on the spot. The deceased were identified as Durgaiah of Mahbubabad, Venu (Sultanabad) and Pegada Srinivas of Peddapalli.
Durgaiah was a permanent railway employee while Venu and Srinivas were on contract. Police and railway officials reached the spot and an investigation is underway. The bodies were shifted to the Government Hospital at Peddapalli for postmortem, the police said.
