K. Satish Kumar, 32, realtor-turned-BJP leader from Jangoan, allegedly cheated a teenager under the guise of getting her a medical seat

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad police on Tuesday arrested K. Satish Kumar, 32, realtor turned BJP leader from Jangoan district, for allegedly cheating a teenager under the guise of getting her a medical seat in a college at Bachupally. Satish Kumar alleged collected Rs 48.53 lakh from the victim’s father.

Satish Kumar had unsuccessfully contested the 2018 Assembly elections from Jangoan on a BSP ticket. He recently joined the BJP.

Following this, Satish Kumar allegedly gave her seat allotment orders, but the victim found that the orders were fake. She demanded that Satish Reddy return their money. He issued cheques against the amount, but they bounced on being deposited in the bank.

After several attempts to get back their money failed, the victim’s family approached the police, following which a case was registered for criminal breach of trust, cheating and forgery. He was produced before the court for judicial custody, the police said.
