ALAPPUZHA: Two Tamil Nadu natives were killed as the car they were travelling in rammed into a parked lorry at Nangiarkulan-gara near Haripad on Friday.
According to the Haripad police, the deceased have been identified as Venkitachalam , 35, House number 4 - 271, SR Nagar Thirupur, and Saravanan, 42 , House number 5 - 2 P.K.R. street, Pollachi. The incident took place at 5.15 a m as they were on their way to Padmanabha Swamy temple for a darshan. Two co-passengers, who are injured critically, are being treated at Medical College Hospital, Vandanam here.
The reason for the accident is meant to be dozing off by driver behind the wheel. The bodies have been shifted to mortuary of Taluk hospital , Haripad. The postmortem will be held on Saturday', police said
