HYDERABAD: A 19-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself to death at her residence in Miyapur on Wednesday. The deceased, Sravanthi, was upset as her father slapped her for being lazy. “After slapping his daughter, the father went to work, leaving her alone in the house. In his absence, she committed suicide by hanging from the ceiling with a saree,” said the police.
The father tried to open the door which was locked. “When he broke open the door, Sravanthi was found hanging from the ceiling,” police added. In a similar incident, a 17-year-old boy committed suicide after his parents asked him about his absence in the classes. The deceased, J. Sunny, son of Kanakaiah, was a second year private course student from Adarsh Hills in Meerpet. “After depressed over his parents’s remarks, he committed suicide by hanging on Wednesday,” said the police.
