An NRI doctor who allegedly cheated around 40 persons including former cricketer Vanka Prathap was arrested.

Hyderabad: An NRI doctor who allegedly cheated around 40 persons including former cricketer Vanka Prathap was arrested by Shamirpet police on Tuesday. Police said Dr Kusuma Vittal, hailing from Hyderabad, was engaged in real estate business along with former Hyderabad Cricket Association selector Vanka Prathap. Later, he cheated Prathap and by making forged documents sold lands without the knowledge of Prathap.
A case was registered in 2007 and the case went on trial. After the case he fled to the US. As he did not respond to court notices, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him. On Monday when he landed in Hyderabad, police arrested him and send him to judicial remand.
