Vijayawada: An upcoming actress who had lodged a complaint against actor Srujan and film director Chalapati alleged that the police was trying to allow the actor to escape.
She alleged that police had arrested some other person instead of the actor and presented him in court as Srujan. She alleged that the police had changed the records and sent the other person to jail on remand.
The duo had allegedly tried to molest her in a car after promising her a lead role in a film. The car, which was on its way from Bhimavaram to Hyderabad, met with an accident and the police stepped in.
The actress, who was hospitalised with injuries sustained in the accident, lodged a complaint with the police, who detained the duo.
The Vijayawada police denied the charge and said actor Srujan had been photographed in court. “She can verify his identity in the Vijayawada sub jail,” said Vijayawada ACP, Central Zone, N. Satyanandam.
