Prathipadu: A 50-year-old man raped a three-year-old girl at Jagapatinagaram village in Kirlampudi mandal of East Godavari on Friday night. According to the police, one Chadaram Jogeswarao was residing in the village.
The victim girl's family stays near the house of the accused. The girl used to attend anganwadi centre and play in front of the house of the accused regularly. On Friday night, when the girl was playing, the accused lured her into his house by offering a chocolate. Later, he perpetrated the crime. The girl returned home in the late hours of the night and started crying. When her parents took her to a private hospital at Prathi-padu presuming that she might be suffering from stomach pain, the doctor found her bleeding heavily. She was immediately shifted to the government hospital at Kakinada for medical treatment. Based on a complaint from the girl's parents, police booked a case and nabbed the culprit.
