The university found fault with the college and with also the students.

Chennai: Madras High Court has directed the GS College of Kangeyam in Tirupur district to pay Rs 1.50 lakh to the parents of 11-year-old hearing impaired girl, who was allegedly sexually assaulted by 17 persons multiple times for the past seven months in an apartment at Ayanavaram.

Justice S. Vaidyanathan, before whom petitions filed by 58 students of the GS College came up for hearing, said “there is no reason as to why the college is trying to fool every one and play fraud. So the college is directed to pay the cost of Rs 1.50 lakh to the parents of the recent rape victim of Ayanavaram, enabling to use the amount for the treatment and welfare of the victim girl. Besides this, the judge directed the students to pay an amount of Rs 50,000 jointly to the parents of the victim girl.

In the petition the students sought for a direction to the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University to allow them to redo the exam of first, third and fourth semesters in the bachelor of Physical education. The university, under which the college has been functioning, found the attendance details submitted by the college were forged one and not allowed the students to write their semester exams.

The university found fault with the college and with also the students. They are hand in glove and forged the attendance and hence university not allowed all the 58 students to write the exams. Aggrieved over this, all the 58 students approached the Madras High Court seeking a direction to allow them to redo their respective semesters. When the matter came up before Justice S. Vaidyanathan the judge imposed a cost of Rs 2 lakh on the college and the students and directed them to pay the amount to the victim girl's family.
