Hyderabad: Cops bust sex racket, 3 rescued

While the accused were brought to court, the rescued victims were sent to a rescue home.

Hyderabad: Central Zone Task Force officials along with Saidabad police conducted raids on two brothels and rescued three female sex workers and apprehended four persons who arranged the meetings between the girls and the prospective customers. Officials recovered Rs 33,610, 8 cell phones, and one car from their possession. The arrested were identified as T.U. Srinivas, 38, resident of Chaitanyapuri in Hyderabad, V. Sai Kumar, 39, resident of Hayathnagar, M. Raju alias Nagaraju, 26, resident of Malakpet, and P. Sree Ramulu, 56, also a resident of Malakpet. Another suspect, Bhasker, the main accused, is still absconding. The raids were conducted based on tip-offs by the Task Force officials.

“During interrogation, Srinivas and Sai Kumar confessed that they were running the brothel at Reddy Colony for the last two months by procuring female sex workers and girls from various parts of the country and paying Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000 per week to them. The girls collected Rs 2,000-Rs 5,000 from each customer. The other two accused, Nagaraju and Sriramulu, confessed that they were running the brothel at Saleem Nagar in Old Malakpet for the last one month. They had taken the place on rent and they got the women from various states by paying them Rs 15,000 for 5 days. The girls collected '3,000 to '5,000 from each customer per visit”, said the DCP Task Force, B. Limba Reddy.

While the accused were brought to court, the rescued victims were sent to a rescue home.
