2 held for killing man over liquor money in Telangana's Bahadurpura

Hyderabad: A week after a 35-year-old man was allegedly murdered in Bahadurpura, special teams of South Zone police on Tuesday arrested two persons for killing the man over money for liquor.

ACP (Falaknuma) Shaik Jahangir said the accused identified as Syed Yousuf and Syed Fazal killed Sheikh Qasim on June 13 near Danamma huts in Bahadurpura and fled the scene.

According to police, the following day, Qasim’s younger brother Shaik Mohammed lodged a complaint with the police stating that Qasim called him and informed that he was attacked by some unidentified persons. Mohammed rushed to the spot and found Qasim lying in a pool of blood with stab injuries on his chest and other parts of the body. He rushed Qasim to Osmania hospital where doctors declared brought him dead.

Two special teams were formed to probe into the murder. During investigation, the police got leads that Syed Yousuf and Syed Fazal killed Qasim after the latter denied giving them money for purchasing liquor. They forcibly tried to extort money from Qasim to buy liquor. When he refused to give money, a scuffle ensued between them and the accused hatched a plan to eliminate Qasim. On the same day, they attacked Qasim with sharp weapons and killed him, the ACP said adding that Yousuf and Syed have several criminal cases registered against them under various police stations. The accused were produced before the court on Tuesday.
