Hyderabad: Labourer rapes minor girl at her own home
Hyderabad: A nine-year-old gir who was playing alone in her house in Ramanthapur was allegedly raped by a labourer on Thursday.
She suffered severe bleeding and is traumatised. The victim has been admitted to the Gandhi Hospital for medical assistance, said the Uppal police, who have formed special teams to nab the rapist.
The incident is said to have taken place at about 11.30 am in Ramanthapur, which comes under the jurisdiction of the Uppal police station.
The girl and her parents had migrated to the city from Khammam about four months ago and were living in a hut.
The girl’s parents were both construction labourers and went out to work in the morning leaving her alone at home. When the mother returned home in the afternoon, she found the child bleeding and blood stains all over her clothes. On enquiry, he learned about the sexual assault, said the Uppal police.
The police said that the parents lodged a complaint at around 4.15 pm. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act has been registered.
The rapist is in his early 20s and works as a labourer at a nearby construction site. After the girl informed about the incident, local people caught the accused and beat him up. They even recorded a video scolding him for what he had done.
Police confirmed this and said after beating him up the locals set him free before calling the police. The man has been absconding since then and special teams have been formed to nab him.
