Hyderabad: Fraudster dupes 2, arrested

Rasheed was earlier arrested by the Hyderabad police for fraudulently obtaining passports and arranging visas for people,said the official.

Hyderabad: A fraudster who duped two persons from Hyderabad, of Rs 91 lakh were arrested by the CCS police who were produced before the city court on Wednesday.

According to G. Jogaiah, Additional DCP, CCS, Mohd. Rasheed Ali plotted the scheme to obtain loan from Syed Anees Hyder Rizvi and Harish Kumar Raney on the pretext of being insolvent after raids by Income Tax officials.

“Rasheed was earlier arrested by the Hyderabad police for fraudulently obtaining passports and arranging visas for people. This time, he has tricked victims using fake documents into believing that I-T sleuths have indeed raided his residence and seized his movable and immovable property. He took a loan of '91 lakh from them and promised to return them soon,” said the official.

However, when Rasheed did not return the money after continuous reminders, Rizvi and Harish approached the CCS officials who nabbed him. He is currently undergoing trial.

Rasheed has been booked under various Sections of IPC for cheating.
