Hyderabad: An intermediate student committed suicide after being worried over her marks. K. Sreeja is believed to have jumped from the fifth floor of her apartment building at Saroornagar. She later succumbed to her injuries.
Sreeja, a first-year student of Sri Gayathri College, had been anxious about her examination results, which are not out yet.
According to the police, she jumped from the balcony at around 6am.
“She sustained serious injuries during the fall and was rushed to hospital for treatment. She then succumbed after few hours during treatment,” said Saroornagar Inspector of Police S. Lingaiah.
The girl was under serious pressure after she wrote her examination. “She prepared well and was hoping to get high marks. But after writing the papers, she came to a conclusion that it would be difficult to get the high scores that she was hoping for. She had been brooding over and was anxious about her result,” said another police officer. Police have booked a case and have started an investigation.
Techie ‘painlessly’ ends life
A 33-year-old techie who spent hours searching for a painless death on the Internet, successfully committed suicide by inhaling nitrogen gas at S.R.Nagar on Wednesday.
Inspector G.V.Ramana Goud told media that the victim Lucky Agarwal, a resident of Swarna Apartment was a software engineer. He had recently developed a product. As there was no proper response from the software market to the app he developed, he sank into depression. He was facing financial problems.
His neighbours told the media that he used to spend hours at night for developing software and slept in the day hours. As he did not come out from his flat on Wednesday, they informed the police.
When police broke open the door, they found Lucky’s body on the bed’with a suicide note which mentioned the app developed by him. Lucky wrote that he wanted a painless death. "At last I found a painless death by inhaling nitrogen gas," he said.
