Bengaluru: Gang ties up teacher, family, loot gold & cash
Bengaluru: A 40-year-old teacher was robbed of gold valuables by eight robbers who entered her house, tied her up and her family before decamping with the jewellery late on Monday evening.
The incident took place at Shabari Nagar in Kothanur police limits around 8 pm. The police said that one of the eight robbers rang the doorbell of the school teacher Anitha’s house. When she opened the door, all the eight robbers barged in and threatened the family members with machetes. There were four people, including Anitha, at the house at the time and the robbers tied the hands of all of them and stuffed cloth in their mouths.
Anitha told the police that the robbers decamped with 100 gms of gold jewellery kept in the cupboard and also those she was wearing. The police have registered a complaint, but have no clues about the robbers so far. The police are examining the footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify the robbers.
“The robbers had come equipped with lethal weapons and threatened the family. Though there are several houses in the neighbourhood, no one had an idea what was going on inside Anitha’s house. Only after the robbers left, she shouted for help and neighbours gathered outside her house,” the police said.
