Bengaluru: In yet another incident of alleged molestation, a college student and a model, who was going with her boyfriend on a two-wheeler, was assaulted and molested by a gang of men in Chikkajala police limits on Sunday night. In a swift operation, the police managed to arrest four men in connection with the incident.
The accused have been identified as Manjuanth, Ravi, Krishna and Praveen. According to the complaint filed by the student, a resident of Thindlu, she was going with her boyfriend on a bike near Adyar Anand Bhavan at Vidyanagar Cross on the Kempegowda International Airport Road around 9 pm. Meanwhile, a man coming on a Honda Activa from the opposite direction stopped the vehicle in front of the bike. He started hurling abuses. When the duo objected, he allegedly snatched the bike key and in the mean time around 40 people had gathered. Following an argument, he allegedly assaulted her boyfriend and as the latter tried to resist him, a few others joined the accused and assaulted him.
Further, when the complainant tried to intervene, the accused allegedly molested her by touching her all over the body and pushing her. She stated in her complaint that the accused persons abused them that they were outsiders and threatened them with dire consequences. Her boyfriend pleaded with the accused people and got the bike key back. He and the victim left the scene and dialled 100 and filed the complaint.
Based on the details provided by the victims, the accused persons were immediately secured. When questioned, the accused Manjunath reportedly told the police that the biker was riding the two-wheeler rashly and was about to hit his scooter. When he questioned the biker, he allegedly started abusing the accused in Hindi and put the fault on the accused. This led to an altercation and the biker allegedly slapped him and that is when he along with his acquaintances, who had gathered there, assaulted him in a fit of rage and pushed the girl as she intervened and abused him, the police said.
