Eve teasing row: Girl's brother stabbed in Bengaluru
Bengaluru: Police have registered a case of attempt to murder, after a 24-year-old man was stabbed by two members of a family following an altercation over eve-teasing on Saturday. The incident was reported near Ashoka Pillar at around 10.45 pm.
The suspects, Harsha and Vijay, had picked up a quarrel with the victim Praveen Kumar on Saturday noon. Praveen was upset as Harsha was frequently eve teasing his sister, a I PUC student. Investigations revealed that the issue had also led to quarrel between the two families.
On Saturday too, Praveen had a quarrel with Harsha over the same issue, after he learnt that Harsha had tried to misbehave with his sister. He had warned Harsha and his family that he would approach the police.
On Saturday evening, Praveen’s sister allegedly told him about Harsha’s misconduct, following which he confronted Harsha, who was near Ashoka Pillar along with Vijay.
An altercation ensued between them and while Praveen was walking towards the police station to lodge a complaint, Harsha and Vijay allegedly stabbed him with a dagger and fled. A passersby, who found Praveen lying in pool of blood, rushed him to Sagar hospital, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
