Adilabad: Land crimes rising in coal belt

Adilabad: Land disputes and related crimes are on the rise in the coal belt area, especially in and around Mancherial town, in the wake of the state government’s plan to create a new district with Mancherial as its headquarters. Land-related disputes are posing a threat to law and order in the coal belt area.

Land value has increased manifold in and around the town following news a new district will be created. In some instances, the same land is being sold to different persons with fake documents and some of the lands are already in litigations. Assistant SI SM Vijay Kumar advised buyers to purchase plots only in the government-approved layouts.

Buyers should check survey numbers and Pahani and EC authorization. Problems arise also as buyers are registering lands as also plots and applying for patta to the lands they have purchased long back.
