Kurnool: Ward boy' snatches chain from patient
Kurnool: A thief, dressed as a hospital staff, entered the patients’ ward at Kurnool government general hospital and snatched a gold chain from a patient on Wednesday.
According to III-Town CI Hanumantha Naik, on Wednesday, around 11.30 a.m., one unknown offender entered into the causalty ward of government general hospital.
He introduced himself to a patient Laskshmi Devi, who was in an unconscious state, as a duty doctor and took her to another room from causalty in a stretcher, acting as a helper and allegedly snatched the gold chain from her neck. He later dropped her at the casualty where she was under observation by the doctors. After she found her chain was lost, she informed her family members who brought the issue to the notice of the hospital authorities and the police. The police realised the issue after they verified the CCTV footages. A case was registered and investigation is on, the CI said.
The CI added that the patient Lakshmidevi was a teacher and resident of Shareennagar in Kurnool city. She was admitted in the hospital after she had attempted to commit suicide by swallowing sleeping pills over family disputes.
