Sexual harassment: Cricket coach denied bail in POCSO case
BENGALURU: The HC on Tuesday rejected cricket coach Nazeer’s bail plea after he was accused of sexually harassing a minor. On Jan 27, Nazir reportedly sought sexual favours from a minor in return for a spot on an IPL team. The minor told his mother who filed a complaint at Yelahanka police station, and a case was registered under the POCSO Act. Nazeer was arrested on January 28.
After being rejected by additional city civil and sessions court for bail he moved the HC, which rejected the appeal on the grounds that the investigation is in progress.

In a statement before the HC, the BBMP invited tender on a public private partnership model (PPP) through ESCO which reduced the financial burden on it. The Palike, in 2011-12, authorised a central government undertaking company to prepare a DPR, request for quotation and proposal for energy efficient street lighting project through Energy Services Company (ESCO) within the BBMP limits.
The Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) (a joint sector, GoI, submitted a project report .
Implementation will be under a shared saving framework with International Finance Corporation (IFC) to be the project development advisory. The IFC prepared a request.
The EESL recommendations based on the survey stated that if BBMP changed the existing high power consuming sodium vapour street light to LED lights, it can save about 70% energy. The case has been adjourned to Friday.
