Minor saved from marriage in Nalgonda
The girl, a resident of Kommepalli in Devarakonda mandal, was a student of the government college.
Hyderabad: An Intermediate student who was forced into child marriage was rescued in Nalgonda. The girl, a resident of Kommepalli in Devarakonda mandal, was a student of the government college. Her parents fixed her marriage with one Raju, 22, of the same village.
Acting on a tip off, police along with officials from the child welfare department rushed to the temple and counselled the parents against the marriage. They took a written assurance from the parents and the groom that the girl would be married after she became a major.
