BENGALURU: Three men, who were performing stunts and wheelies on a bike and were video recording it to impress girls, were arrested by the Cubbon Park traffic police. The operation was carried out based on the information provided by alert public.
The accused have been identified as Naveen C., 25, an ITI student and a resident of Shivanagar in Rajajinagar, Abhishek, 26, a car driver and a resident of Jogupalya in Halasuru, and Naveen Vishwanath, 32, a building contractor and a resident of Manjunathanagar.
The police said that the trio had carried out stunts from Queen’s Road Junction to CTO Junction between 10.45 pm and 11 pm on February 11. The alert public had informed the police about the incident. The police, who verified several cameras, zeroed in on the vehicles and arrested the trio based on the registration numbers of the vehicles. “Accused Naveen was performing stunts on a Yamaha bike (KA-01H-5418), while contractor Naveen was video recording it sitting in the car, following the bike. The car driver was also part of this and he was also arrested. Both the bike and car have been seized. It was found that bike rider Naveen had no driving licence and had modified the silencer and replaced the bike's handle to facilitate wheelies,” the police said.
Further, their interrogation revealed that they wanted to photograph the stunts so that pictures and videos could be shared on WhatsApp and Facebook to impress peers and girlfriends, the police said.
