Corporator's kin in kidnap case
Hyderabad: The police registered a kidnap case against a cousin of the Golnaka corporator for allegedly attacking and kidnapping a 24-year-old youth. The victim alleged that one Pavan came to his home saying that he wanted to discuss something. Later, he asked the victim to drop him at home and on the way he was attacked and taken to a lonely place. The accused Shailender and Pavan were arrested while Golnaka corporator Kaleru Padma’s nephew K. Bharath is absconding.
Police said the victim Saicharan Goud, 24, had completed engineering and was preparing to go abroad for studies. On Friday, around 10 pm, while Saicharan was at home, Pavan called him on the mobile to discuss some comments made against him. As per Saicharan’s suggestion he came to his home but since he was drunk Saicharan told him that they will discuss the matter later.
Later, as per Pavan’s request he went to drop Pavan. “Midway, Bharath, Shailender and some others who were waiting at Golnaka junction stopped the bike and started beating me,” said Saicharan. Police said he was beaten on the back, face and ribs and one of his hands was fractured.
“Based on a complaint from his father Rajamouli, a case was registered. Saicharan was sent for medical tests and his condition is stable now,” said SI P. Mahender Reddy. Shailender and Pavan were arrested and sent to judicial custody. A hunt is on to nab Bharath who is on the run.
