Vizag techie stabbed in brawl over missing wallet at Hyderabad bar

One of them broke a beer bottle and stabbed Raviteja in the stomach and other body parts.

Hyderabad: A Vizag-based techie who came to Hyderabad to meet his brothers was stabbed by two youths during a brawl over a missing wallet at a bar in Kukatpally on Thursday night.

Raviteja who suffered serious injuries was hospitalised. The police booked an attempt to murder case against the youths.

Police said that Raviteja who works for Oracle came to Hyderabad two days ago to meet his brothers Praveen and Rohith who stay at Kukatpally. On Thursday night the trio came to the KB Bar near the Kukatpally Y Junction.

While consuming alcohol, Raviteja went to adjust the TV volume, and when he returned to his table he found his wallet missing from the table. He started searching for it on the floor.

Meanwhile, he saw Vishanth and Naveen who were sitting in the next table leaving. He intercepted them, and asked about his purse. They denied knowledge of it, and when he continued to question them, an argument broke out between the duo and Raviteja and his brothers. “One of them broke a beer bottle and stabbed Raviteja in the stomach and other body parts. They also injured Praveen who went to help Raviteja,” Kukatpally inspector K. Purusho-tham said.

Based on a complaint from Praveen, police registered an attempt to murder case and launched a hunt for the suspects.

Police found that Vishanth was working as a sales manager for a mobile service provider and Naveen as a mechanic in an automobile showroom till a few months ago and is now jobless.

Police also found that a CCTV camera in the area where the fight took place had broken down.

Raviteja is being treated at a private hospital, and is out of danger.

A hunt is on to nab the suspects.
