Police book case for CSI church attack

The police had earlier booked three persons for attacking the pastor of the CSI church.

Thiruvananthapuram: Neyyar Dam police on Monday booked a case against a group of unidentified persons for the attack on a church at Kuttamala in Thiruvananthapuram district on Monday following allegations of religion conversion. The miscreants damaged HMS church and destroyed furniture, public address system and articles used for prayers. The police had earlier booked three persons for attacking the pastor of the CSI church, identified as Shine P. Lawrence a native of Amboori when he was taking a boy back to the boy’s house after Christmas carol on Thursday last.

The boy and his family had recently converted to Christianity. In his complaint, the priest had alleged that the men who attacked them also abused him in the name of conversion and that he had to seek treatment at Neyyatti-nkara district hospital. CSI Bishop Dharmaraj Rasalam who visited the place on Monday urged strong action on the incident.
