A second year engineering student, Lakshmi Sai, committed suicide by hanging in a room in the Maya Bazaar area.
Nellore: A second year engineering student, Lakshmi Sai, committed suicide by hanging in a room in the Maya Bazaar area of Gudur in SPSR Nellore district. Police suspects that Sai, belonging to Gonupalli in Rapur mandal, ended his life two days back when his roommates went home for the weekend.
The incident came to light when they returned to the room on Tuesday. The students alerted the police when they noticed foul smell from the room which was bolted from inside.
According his friends, Sai was a student of Narayana Engineering College in Gudur. They suspected that he was feeling depressed after the management had turned him out of the hostel a few days back. Gudur DSP V.S. Rambabu and One Town in-charge sub-inspector Naresh rushed to the spot. Police registered a case and shifted the body to the government hospital. The DSP said they were waiting for Sai’s family members to ascertain the reasons behind the suicide.
