Guntur: Man kills father for job
GUNTUR: A man murdered his father to get the government job on compassionate grounds in Guntur district. According to the Macharla police, K. Amarnath attacked his father Kodamagundly Srinivas, 45, working as an attender in the labour department with an idea that he would get a job on compassionate basis. The incident took place in Lingapuram Colony in Macharla on Monday.
Srinivas’ first wife Bharati died a few years ago and later he married another woman Amala who is now living single in Hyderabad due to some differences with him. Further, Srinivas developed an illegal relationship with another woman, Sydamma, at Lingapuram Colony and has been visiting her house. Amarnath, Srinivas first wife’s son, demanded that his father provide a job by taking voluntary retirement on health grounds.
Srinivas refused to do so several times and this led to heated argument between the father and son. On Monday too, Amarnath broached the issue and in a fit of rage, he brought a big stone and hit his father with it on his head. Srinivas died on the spot with a serious head injury. The Macharla police rushed to the spot and shifted the body for autopsy after conducting inquest. Macharla town police station CI Siva Sankar said that a case was registered and that investigation has begun.
