Chain snatcher held, gold seized

We seized 62 gm gold, worth Rs 1.80 lakh from his possession, the official added.

Hyderabad: Secunderabad railway police arrested a 22-year-old man from Yapral who was involved in chain snatching cases at the railway station and recovered 62 gm gold from his possession.

The arrested man was identified as Muddangula Venkatesh, 22, who was involved in two chain snatching cases, said the superintendent of railway police, G. Ashok Kumar.

“The arrest was made based on reliable information from the general booking gate on platform No. 1 of Secunderabad Railway Station on Monday morning,” the official said.

“We seized 62 gm gold, worth '1.80 lakh from his possession,” the official added. He further said that the man was previously arrested by the government railway police in July, 2017.

Venkatesh has been remanded in judicial custody.
